ROMNEY’S VEEP PICK: PAUL RYAN!

Through an iphone app, the Romney camp announced that it has called on Paul Ryan of Wisconsin to be his running mate in 2012. The two will appear together later this morning at a naval base in Virginia.

When I look at Paul Ryan to me his mannerisms and even his clean cut appearance are reminiscent of John F. Kennedy. He is clearly a principled Congressman and has enough confidence even to stand up to the President of the United States as he did when Obamacare was being debated. Take a look:

Paul Ryan has also made a name for himself by being the Senator who puts out plans to get America back on track. He’s put out several budgets and even developed a plan to reform Medicare and Social Security, a task that is considered political suicide.

Conservatives were clearly hoping for a clearer contrast with Romney like Allen West or Marco Rubio but the reason they didn’t make the list is because Romney knows that Conservatives are going to the polls not to vote for him but to vote against President Obama.

In the end I contend that he picked a worthy running mate and one that should satisfy most Conservative voters. On top of that can you just image the debate between Paul Ryan and Joe Biden? I will probably feel sorry for Joe having to try to make a reasonable argument for the state of the economy under President Obama and the state of a nation that has been dived up like it’s a pie chart.

What we do know is that Ryan brings some strong Conservative ideas to the table and hopefully will keep Romney headed in the “Right” direction. If they win America has a chance, but if they lose, we are certain to lose too… lose America as we’ve always known it, forever.

Paul Ryan is a snake and an impostor. He voted for TARP and the big bank bailouts! He voted to continue and expand the wars! He voted for the NDAA and to make the Patriot Act permanent. He voted for Ni Child Left Behind. Heboted NO on removing troops from Afghanistan and Libya. He voted for the GM and Chrysler bailout, Medicare expansion, housing subsidies, surveillance w/o warrant, a national ID. His budget plan isn’t enough to make a difference in any significant way. This is who you’re calling a principled conservative?!!! If so, you are very deceived! Paul Ryan talks a good game, but take a good second look at him! Dig deep and then tell me if you still think he’s got good principle after you learn all he’s voted for and against! Paul Ryan is a snake, a phony, he’s an illusion to deceive the “conservative” American voters.

Well, Noelle as the article states Ryan will satisfy most Conservatives but not all of them. Conservatives aren’t happy with Romney as the nominee either but allow me to point out that we didn’t get to a place where a Marxist would be President overnight, and we aren’t going to get back to Constitutional government overnight just because Conservatives have finally found their backbone and are willing to break their silence.
Furthermore the article didn’t say Ryan was a Conservative, it said he was a Principled Congressman, which is to say that he believes in the things he does and stands by them. I agree with you that his voting record is hardly what I would prefer in a VP candidate, but again I wasn’t routing for Romney either.
      We have four choices:
      1. Don’t vote in the next election at all.
      2. Vote for Obama/Biden.
      3.. Write in Ron Paul
      4. Vote for Romney/Ryan and in 2020 fight harder for a true Conservative candidate.
These are the choices like them or not….

Thank you for your reply. I don’t see how voting for Romney will help anything at all. Both Romney and Obama are funded by Goldman Sachs so whichever way ppl go we are sure to get the same results. This left/right, Republican/Democrat thing is just to fool ppl into believing they actually have a choice. Romney is no conservative in any sense. He is a progressive, which is the nice new word for socialist. For goodness sake, Romney’s the mastermind behind RomneyCare which was the prototype for ObamaCare! And during the debates Romney totally flipped lopped in it and said he only meant to implement it in MA but then said he always meant it to be implemented in the entire country. Both RomneyCare and ObamaCare subsidized abortion. Romney and Obama both support the NDAA and limiting our freedoms. They both support disarming the ppl. They both support continuing and expanding these unconstitutional wars we’ve started all over the world in the name of democracy and God, but they have nothing to do e/either and have contributed to bankrupting our country AND brought blowback! They both supported the bailouts. They both support the Federal Reserve and do not support an audit, (though Romney has claimed differently). Romney stated we need a “Good, strong Federal Reserve”, and that Ben Bernanke is doing a good job. Paul Ryan is in synch w/all of this as well. Romney invested in an abortion company and made millions from it. Heck, he even said he would’ve voted for Obama. The comparisons between Obama and Romney are endless! So tell me, what’s different? Voting for the “lesser of two evils” is still voting for evil!! I can’t possibly get behind a candidate that I completely disagree with and in good conscience place a vote for him because I believe he may be the lesser of two evils. Whether we get Romney or Obama, we get more of the same. Same policies, same candidate, different face. Both Romney and Obama just tell everyone what they want to hear, neither of them tell anyone the truth. They’re dishonest, untrustworthy and just puppets owned by the SAME puppet master! To me it’s a matter of principle and I refuse to vote for either! I’d rather write in Ron Paul in protest because at least then I’m going with my conscience an principle. Besides the fact that Romney still has not been crowned. Ron Paul is still in the race and fighting every inch of the way even though the RNC has done and is still doing everything they can to fight him and keep him from speaking at the convention. Doesn’t it make you wonder why they’re so adamant about keeping him out and pushing SO hard for Romney?! I appreciate your point, and again, thanks for replying, but I have NO confidence in Romney OR Paul Ryan! None at all

Once again, I mostly agree with you except for that Romney and Obama are twins. I’m not a great fan of Romney because he doesn’t hold the same values as I do. I’m much more Libertarian in my personal views than he could ever hope to be and I image the same can be said for Paul Ryan.
What I do know is that the country won’t jump from a Barack Obama to a Ron Paul because it requires too much of a shift in what people have become accustomed to. If the Conservatives and Libertarians ever hope to regain a footing in America, we have to learn from the Progressives and move the country inch by inch toward maximum freedom.
I respect that you are “not going to waste your vote” on a Romney/Ryan ticket but the truth is that we win by replacing the Congress with more Conservatives and Libertarians and making Romney and Paul fall in line. But you’ll never get an ideological like Obama to ever sign on to fiscal conservatism or for that matter Libertarian ideals, no matter how it affects the country.
You should go see the movie 2016 and you’ll uncover the course that Obama is taking to destroy America all together. If you see that movie and still decide that you should allow Obama even a chance at a second term then so be it! As for me, I’m not willing to take that chance.
Again, we agree on the principle of wanting a strict Constitutionalists as our nominee but we disagree about how we can achieve that goal. You want hard and fast and I think it will be hard and slow.
But, I truly feel your passion and I appreciate you taking the time to post your thoughts. Please share this site with other Libertarians and maybe we can coordinate a pathway to achieve the maximum freedom that we all believe in and deserve. God Bless!

Oh gosh, where do I even begin? Okay first of all you say we agree on most points but IMO we really don’t agree on much of anything at all. If we did you wouldn’t be so snowed by this Romney/Ryan ticket and putting so much stock and hope in it. It has been proven in poll after poll that Romney CAN’T beat Obama. You made a point of saying that you appreciate how I won’t “waste my vote” on Romney, but a vote for Romney is exact that, “a waste”! You also didn’t address any of my points, while you confidently stated that you disagree that Obama and Romney are not twins. I gave you example after example on points on which they agree, yet you chose to ignore each one and went in to make that statement. All it takes is a couple of strokes of the keyboard to verify all I stated. I can’t begin to understand what makes you think Romney is a safer choice? Or what makes you think he will in any way move the country in the right direction? Or what on earth makes you think we have anything to learn from PROGRESSIVES?!!! A progressive is nothing other than a socialist which is what Romney really is!  You also stated I want “hard and fast”. Well, you’re mistaken in making that statement and assumption. This country has been in dire decline for decades! Are you gonna try to tell me that you see any difference between Bush, Clinton, Bush 2, and Obama? They’ve all worked hand in hand with one another to steer this country towards the same direction,  socialism and a one world order! Each one has started things while in office that the next incoming puppet finishes. If you actually believe we have ANY hope w/Romney you’re more misguided than I thought. The change we need is a long time coming. Ron Paul has ran for President 3 times! It has taken him decades to make the strides he has and ppl are finally waking up from their dormant state and learning the truth and fighting for it and for the freedoms which have been insidiously taken away and eroded by our government. As long as ppl keep being sheeple and believing that the mainstream media, which is owned by big corporations and monitored by the government,  and FYI Romney owns Clear Channel Media, and as long as the sheeple continue this back and forth of choosing between the two shams we call the Republican and Democratic parties we will NEVER have ANY change!! Both parties need to be reformed and Dr. Paul has stated repeatedly how necessary it is that the Republican party get an overhaul. Furthermore, you told me I should go watch the movie 2016, as if I wasn’t aware of what Obama’s plan for this country is and what he’s been working towards. *Sigh*, all the comparisons I made in my previous post should make it quite obvious that I’m aware of what he represents and is working towards and why I made the comparisons, to point out that not only is Romney no different but just as dangerous. Sadly, you choose instead to be in denial and thus blind to these truths.  I’m well aware of the movie 2016,  I long ago watched The Obama Deception. It lays out the truth about Obama and his plans.  You should watch  End Game.  As long as ppl in this country keep saying and believing things like, “I like ____ candidate , and they share my values an ideals but he/she can’t win so I’m just gonna get behind the one the media/government/sheeple say can win, even though we don’t really share the same values, but I believe they’re the lesser of two evils”, we will NEVER acquire any change and will continue our path to serfdom and enslavement, and we’re heading there at maximum velocity! What we NEED to do IS to VOTE OUR CONSCIENCE and STOP having this defeatist attitude that the right person can’t win so we must go w/the one we’re TOLD can. It’s proven Ron Paul has the support and he has the delegates to actually win the nomination! Yet the RNC has gone out of their way and broken it’s own rules time and time again to disqulify the Ron Paul delegates and replace them w/Romney delegates instead. Ron Paul’s delegates worked hard for those delegate spots and they did so fairly and even put up w/abuse and great unfairness and cheating from the Romney camp and the RNC! If you are okay w/cheating, deceit, unfairness, lies and deluding yourself into believing Romney is any different and can somehow win, then go right ahead and place your vote for Romney. But IMO, any man or woman of principle, integrity an character, and those who seek to learn and know the real truth would NOT be okay w/any of those things and would NEVER place a vote for either Romney OR Obama!!! It’s about time we stand together against corruption, lies, deceit, and all the other atrocities our government inflicts upon us! It amazes me how ppl tend to give up and jump ship and throw their support behind the candidate that seems to be the one that will win, but #1 things aren’t always how they appear and #2 when you really believe in someone/something and have a conviction towards it you don’t back down and jump ship, you fight harder and dig deeper because even if it does turn out that you don’t achieve your goal at that moment, at least you know you fought hard and did your absolute best, and never compromised. And you’ll also know that the fight wasn’t in vain because you helped further the cause you believe in and you’re fighting for!  We Christians are called upon to be the salt of the earth. We are to set a good example, be steadfast and called to do the right thing even when it’s the unpopular choice. Jesus never said to give up or compromise when things get hard or when they appear as if they’re not moving in the right direction.  Thomas Jefferson once said, “In matters of style, swim with the current; in matters of principle, stand like a rock.” And as Jesse Ventura says, “A vote is “wasted” when someone fails to vote their conscience.” also, one of my favorite quotes by John Quincy Adams is, “Always vote for principle, though you may vote alone, and you may cherish the sweetest reflection that your vote is NEVER LOST.” Sound like great advice to me both from a Christian perspective and from a rational and principled one as well.
I wrote out this reply prior to the Republican National Convention. If after having watched and witnessed how they and Romney outright, blatantly cheated to hand Romney the nomination regardless of rules and laws, how even though the rules states you must have a 5 state plurality to be nominated on the floor, (Dr. Paul had 6), yet they at the very last minute went to have the rules changed to an 8 state plurality so Dr. Paul couldn’t be nominated, they also made sure to illegally unseat a great # of Dr. Paul’s delegates and went as far as to give Romney veto power over any and all delegates which in the history of the US has never been done and is unconstitutional. Also, when Dr. Paul won a state they refused to announce it or any of the # of delegates he won and only announced Romney’s states and delegate #’s. All this was done by Romney’s lawyers w/his approval and the RNC’s complicity. At this point giving Romney a vote is outright telling him and the RNC that it’s perfectly okay to cheat, lie, manipulate and deceive,  (all characteristics of satan himself), which makes you complicit to all of it. So if after all that they’ve done and then some, you can say that this candidate is still worthy of your vote then I’d have to say you don’t know or comprehend the meaning of the word “principle” and you are completely blinded and deceived by the lies, manipulations and deceit that is Romney. In that case you’ll proudly place your vote for him but in time, hopefully you’ll wake up and discover that Romney and  Obama are really no different and have the same agenda at heart, because they are owned by the same big banks and corporations.  This is the last I’ll post here, I doubt I’ll return. I do wish you the best. God bless you and your family.
