US GOLD MEDALIST GABRIELLA DOUGLAS HONORS GOD AFTER MAKING HISTORY

It’s the story of a young girl who could do acrobatic tricks since age three who is now the focus of many believers and others. The now sixteen year old Olympian took the gold medal in the girls all around, the first black American to do so which deeply affected the last black American gold medalist Dominic Dawes; take a look.

This is a young girl who not only excels as a world class athlete but isn’t afraid of her faith either. Her Twitter description says:

After winning the gold medal Gabby tweeted:

The Christian Post reports:

Following her emotional win the 16-year-old gave an interview with NBC and celebrated the moment by praising God and offering her thanks for an amazing blessing.

“It is everything I thought it would be; being the Olympic champion, it definitely is an amazing feeling.

And I give all the glory to God. It’s kind of a win-win situation. The glory goes up to Him and the blessings fall down on me,” Douglas testified in the interview.

Commentary: What a truly amazing young girl! Yes, she’s an amazing athlete, but what I’m referring to is her courage and conviction of and in her faith. For a sixteen year old girl on the world stage to fearlessly profess her faith in Christ makes her the ideal role model for any of my three girls and for that matter my boy too.

We live in a world that has forgotten what life is all about. It’s not about how much we can accumulate in power or wealth but it’s about inspiring the next generation of Americans to rise to every occasion and be the difference.

Gabby Douglas has set herself apart as a difference maker for those who will come behind her not because she’s black and received a gold medal but because she has the courage and strength to know where her talent and strength comes from. God Bless you Gabby!
