Doctors are finally saying what us insurance agent already knew; Obama’s health reform plan is bad for everyone but large health insurers. As more time passes and new pieces of PPACA are implemented, a full understanding of exactly how draconian this law actually is, and the disastrous effects on healthcare are realized.
One has to wonder, was this the original intent?
If 83% of all the doctors in America quit because Obamacare destroys their ability to care for patients profitably, it’ll open the door to the federal government claiming it has “NO CHOICE” but to take over the entire healthcare industry and build a new government infrastructure to provide the “Care that Americans need and deserve”. (I can see the headlines already).
But, if that were to happen, wouldn’t it be the very same government who passed the law that caused the crisis. It seems our national politicians have become expert crisis creators in order to create the solution for the crisis that they themselves are responsible for and for some reason
WE KEEP RE-ELECTING THEM!
We want solutions to the out of control costs of our premiums, but the PPACA and truthfully the Republican plans aren’t going to end at cost reduction because they don’t address the real cost drivers of our premium. And until we, as a society, are ready to deal directly with the disease that’s causing the sickness we’ll continue to choke down more bad medicine from Washington.
What are the cost drivers of our premiums?
1. Too many claims
2. No real competition with insurance plans, we just trade company names
3. Not an adequate supply of doctors to care for patients and it’s getting worse
4. The assault on the medical profession by the legal profession
5. Defensive medicine
6. Federal and state regulations that restrict flexibility
7. Government entitlements and healthcare
8. Uncompensated Care
These are the diseases and the only cure to them is the free market which I outlined in my book “The DocNet A Free Market Solution To Replace Obamacare” which you can get free when you subscribe to CrossWire, the official newsletter of The Christian Republic. (Available in the upper right corner)
But allow me to give you an insight into the solution. Doctor’s don’t need to quit their practices, what they need to do is to go direct to the consumer by offering health services for a direct monthly fee. This would strengthen the doctor patient relationship and them back control over care. Secondly, it’ll reduce the need and desire for health insurance as a means to pay for mundane health maintenance expenses that are currently processed through insurance helping drive up premium costs. (A doctor in New York was actually successful with this approach before New York shut him down). The end result is doctor’s would increase their operating capital and take home pay by doing so, all without abandoning the American consumer of health services.
Consumers can opt for more cost effective insurances to offset the monthly fee charged by the doctors which, done properly, will result in more complete care with far less out of pocket expense to the consumer.
The bottom line, which makes more sense and MULTI-TRILLION dollar government controlled plan where premiums continue to escalate or a $0 investment free market solution that actually has the potential of driving costs down. I’ve certainly made my decision on the issue.
